Even though this year has come with its challenges, we definitely could not miss the opportunity to celebrate our 7th anniversary and highlight the work that we do.

Before the current state of things, a huge party would have been thrown for all our stakeholders but COVID had something different in store for us and we had to think differently about the anniversary celebration.

In order to mark our 7th year anniversary, we decided to organise a week-long...yes! a week-long celebration; recognising all the different stakeholders that we work with; our Alumni, Replicator partners, Employer partners, Board members, Funders, and the team members.

So let us give you a run-down of how the week went;

Day 1- The week started off with a video of our CEO, Molade Adeniyi sharing the story of how we started whilst also appreciating our different stakeholders. Milestones reached in the last 7 years were also highlighted.

Day 2- We showcased some alumni sharing the impact of the training on them. It was refreshing to see videos of alumni from as far back as 2014 sharing their journey.

You can watch our alumni videos on our Instagram page.

Day 3- Our partnership with the Lagos State Government was also highlighted as Mrs. Iyabo Seriki Bello, the Director of the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment (MWCE) celebrated with us.

We also had videos from our Replicator partners who are recreating our model in helping them alleviate youth unemployment.

Day 4- Our employer partners were not left out; from Craft Gourment to Smoothie Express to FSDHS Merchant Bank, they all sent in videos celebrating with us.

On Day 5 and Day 6, team members who won awards during the second quarter (Q2) were recognised and the team in general celebrated during a virtual TGIF.

Day 7- The week was summed up with the main event which was a virtual celebrating with ALL of our stakeholders from all over the world.

The event was an opportunity for stakeholders who because of distance may not have been able to join the meeting virtually.

You can see clips of the event right here

Overall, it was a week filled with a reminder of the work we do and the people that we serve, strengthening us to forge ahead and make more impact on the state of unemployment in Nigeria and eventually West Africa.

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
