We turned 8 last month! and it was an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come, and how much more lays ahead for us.

The celebration spanned for a period of one month and it was filled with activities around the work we do.

The first week was for letting people meet the faces behind WAVE, we shared short profiles of team members; their role, what inspires them at WAVE and one interesting fact about them

You can find all the profiles on our Instagram page

The following week, was us sharing our impact in the unemployment space, our collaboration with government parastatals and other organisations.

Afterwards, we share testimonials from our different stakeholders; alumni, employer partners, growth partners and corporate training partners.

It was heartwarming to receive all the feedback and well wishes.

You can see some of them on Instagram

The final week was for more testimonials and the anniversary event itself which happened on Zoom

The event had our different stakeholders on the call, sharing their stories; how they discovered us and our interactions had impacted them.

A major part of the anniversary event was our alumni pitch competition, which was an opportunity for previously shortlisted alumni to pitch their business to a panel of judges and possibly win cash prizes and mentorship opportunities with our judges.

If you are interested in watching our alumni pitch their businesses, you can watch the clips on our Youtube channel.

We want to share a big thank you to everyone that has engaged with our content in one way or another. Our different stakeholders are not left out; our alumni, employer partners, growth partners, corporate training partners and also our partnership with different governments parastatals.

Your good wishes is a source of encouragement to continue to make an impact in the education to employment space in West Africa.

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
