Mary Ibe is a batch 1 alumna of WAVE Academy. Through WAVE, Mary was introduced to hospitality; having first-hand experience in the industry. After WAVE, she worked at Chesney Hotel, Victoria Island from October 2013 to June 2015.

Before leaving Chesney, Mary was running her M.Sc program in Organization Behaviour in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Lagos. Sequel to her work at Chesney, Mary furthered her passion for hospitality, working at Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel. When asked the challenges encountered during her work, she said "the major challenge so far is communication; I hardly get information from my colleagues and also my boss." She further stated that she has been able to overcome this challenge through the skills involved in over-communicating.  Also, having to work with different set of people was another challenge and she tried to understand the attitude of each of her co-workers.

Mary's long term goal is to be an event planner. For Mary Anthoniet Ibe, working with Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel is drilling her for her future goal.

We wish Mary Ibe many more accomplishments in her future endeavours as we continue to support her.

Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
