After working with three different establishments, Favour could only make meagre savings for herself. She searched for better opportunities but her efforts proved unproductive. This was difficult! The fact that she lacked information at critical points was the genesis of the situation. This worried her because ends needed to be met but the means were unavailable. She finally got the opportunity to come to WAVE through the recommendation of a friend and decided to go on with the program, as the Ajah centre which she attended, was not much of a distance to her place of abode.

The fact that she hungered for more knowledge about skills relating to better opportunities with respect to the hospitality industry was her drive. At WAVE, she learnt skills in communication and was willing to know more about the things that were not clear to her. Though her expectations were high, she did not lose sight of what she wanted out of the experience. She also took part in the job shadow program, which she acknowledged was interactive and fun, and later transformed to a better placement upon completion.

Favour is currently a Sales representative at Kudi Cosmetics. She enjoys the fact that through the establishment she has been exposed to a wide variety of information about the industry.

She plans to own her own make-up and cosmetic studio in the nearest future which she is aware of requires a lot of financial aid and is planning towards it. Her advice to job-seekers is to keep striving for better opportunities, never to give up, save more and always establish oneself.

Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
