Victor Anunobi, a B.Tech holder in Industrial Chemistry, found himself without a job after his national youth service and decided it was important to learn new skills.

His passion for electrical engineering and power systems led him to discover WAVE's Solar PV (Photovoltaic) training program on Facebook.

Victor was pleasantly surprised to find out the training was sponsored, and his training experience exceeded his expectations. For him, the learning environment and his trainers played an important role in his positive experience.

“In the soft skills aspect, Mr. Christian was so brilliant. He gave us everything we need to attain success in any organization, from listening skills and relationship skills to CV writing. He really changed the way I think about soft skills,” said Victor.

Immediately after completing the training, Victor used the CV writing skills he learned to create a CV and quickly landed a job at Smartflow Technology Limited as an Executive Solar PV Engineer.

Currently on the job, Victor is able to demonstrate the skills he acquired during the WAVE program.

“A standout moment for me was installing a 240-volt 15kVA solar system with minimal supervision. I was able to effectively explain how the system works, and it led to us getting more recommendations,” Victor shared.

“The training has also enabled me to relate well with my colleagues, and I would encourage anyone interested in the solar industry to seize this training opportunity,” he added.

Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
