Our anniversary has come and gone but the event created an opportunity for reflection and celebration of everyone that has contributed to #projectWAVE

Highlights of the event included alumni testimonials; where alumni got the opportunity to share their experience before, during and after WAVE training, alumni referral award by outreach; where alumni that had referred trainees were rewarded with cash prizes and the big one; the alumni business pitch competition.

One of the activities during the anniversary celebration was an alumni business pitch competition between 5 of our alumni for a cash price of 50,000 naira and 30,000 naira for the winner and runner up respectively.

The alumni had the opportunity to make a case for their business and why they think they should be supported. The panel of judges gave feedback to the alumni on their businesses; the panel included Shirley Somuah; who works in the financial industry, Segun Adeniyi; a business advisor and Nnenna Onyewuchi; a communications and PR expert.

Nifemi Mariam a fashion enthusiast that makes fashion accessories won the cash prize of 50,000 naira while the runner-up was Anastasia who runs a media production company. This was a means of encouraging our alumni that are entrepreneurial even while they seek paid employment.

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
