HOW DID YOU GET TO KNOW ABOUT WAVE?
EMMANUEL BASSEY got to know about WAVE through a flyer. Prior to WAVE, he was sewing at home and depends on the little income he earns from customers, which does not come in frequently. He came to WAVE because he needed to explore life outside what he was doing at the time.

YOUR EXPECTATION WORKING AT WAVE
yes.... "I hope u guys are not one of these agents that extort money from people"

DID WAVE CHANGE YOU?
It did change me. WAVE is an academy that takes in individuals who are willing to learn through vigorous training and connect them to potential employers.

WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES AND EXCITEMENT AT WAVE
It was really tiring, two weeks of intense training was not child's play, waking up very early and closing by 6pm, I never came in late. It was really hectic, the Classes/Activities was fun, group discussions, meeting new people, making paper bags to sell to people using your customer relation skills. The whole experience was fun.

WHAT IS YOUR LONG TIME GOAL?
I want to be a Pharmacist, I aspire to achieve that goal through continuous learning and improvement.

WHICH OF THE SKILLS DO YOU THINK WILL GET YOU TO YOUR LONG TIME GOAL?
Emotional Intelligence and Effective communication will help anyone on any role at anytime, it makes being understood a lot more easier.

WHERE DO YOU WORK CURRENTLY?
Craft Gourmet as a waiter. What i like most about the job is the exposed background.
Emmanuel is 27yrs old and lives in Apapa, which is not far from his training centre. Prior to WAVE, he worked in an hospitality company 1. batch 5.3(government project)Apapa

JOB SHADOW EXPERIENCE
The job placement was a good one, I saw practically how to handle customers, saw varieties of food and learnt the names of each one. It was a tough experience due to the fact that if one is willing to remain employed, he/she has to go through certain procedures because everything is done in an orderly way.

ON THE JOB WHAT SKILL DO YOU APPLY AND HOW?
My development so far is as a result of my willingness to learn, all thanks to WAVE. Effective listening also because people come in with different accents in which this skill comes in handy.
It entails an average earning per month, 20k or less, sometimes not at all, since i work from home.
Except during December period, because the job is seasonal.

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
