Toheeb an SSCE holder who lives in Apapa with his family described the period when he was without a job as rough, at that time he was assisting his mother in her trading business and was learning handy work skills but felt he was not shown respect at home because of his lack of employment and constant sitting at home.

He got to know about the WAVE training through a friend and applied because he needed a job where he could earn money to survive and also learn soft skills.
Toheeb who had his training in the Yaba centre spent 35minutes on the road daily to get to the venue of his training, he enjoyed the experience, describing the ambience as interesting and the sessions as good.

After training for two weeks, he did his job shadow at Naija Palace, a hotel in Yaba Lagos where he also picked up housekeeping skills.
Working as a bartender currently at Cafe Jade; a restaurant in Lekki Lagos, Toheeb shares that he loves his job and skills like effective communication, ability to manage pressure and problem-solving which he learnt at WAVE has helped him at his job and because of the quality of his work, last year he received a sizeable amount in tips that enabled him to save almost a million naira. After almost three years post WAVE, he has had a salary increase of 20% and he is happy to contribute financially at home.

His dream for the future is to own his own drinks company although he recognises that he has to take courses to learn more about this and he advises job seekers to persist until they get the job of their choice.

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
