Marvel Odor was unemployed when he heard about our training through a former roommate. Although he had a B.Sc in Political Science, he joined the training because he wanted to learn more about the hospitality industry.

He joined batch 0.2 in Lekki and was satisfied with the training program because it exceeded his expectations.

“The training experience prepared me for the work environment. Although the cost of transportation was a challenge, I was excited to be part of the training".

After the training, Marvel had his job shadow at Mint By Eat Green Company in Lekki;

“It was an amazing experience, I made lifelong friends, and had the opportunity to practice my waiting and bartending skills.”

His growth was evident, such that he was retained after his job shadow experience at Mint By Eat Green Company.

After some time, Marvel relocated to the United States where he works as an Operations Manager with FedEx Ground.

“One thing I like about my job here is being able to deliver on the “Purple Promise” which is in sync with all I learnt from WAVE and being a mentor to others even as an immigrant.

All the skills I learned at WAVE made me successful at both interviews and jobs, especially putting people first.”

Marvel is excited to grow at his job and become a cybersecurity expert.

He also had some advice for job seekers; “To any job seeker, apply for the WAVE training and practice all that you would be taught and you will see your career dream come through. In addition, WAVE teaches and offers what no Nigerian or African university doesn’t and can’t offer. A huge thanks to the training team and the whole academy.”

* The purple promise is the brand promise of FedEx which is about making every customer’s experience outstanding

Ifeoluwa's admirer❤️
Her story is inspiring. I feel motivated. She is a young girl who at a tender age knows what she wants and she is working towards becoming her dreams.

I really love the transformation that Wave is causing in the lives of the young people. Mary's experience just stands out. She is more equipped to live. This and more is what young girls especially need to compete favorably in Nigeria. Apart from the people that are in Lagos state, how can youths from other states participate in this training? How much does the training cost? Before I go, I really appreciate the leadership of West African Vocational Education. God richly bless you. Thank.
